With experience spanning 10 years, Jane started her career in Human Resources working in Wellington – across private, public and tertiary environments which has enabled her to experience a diverse range of businesses and related issues. Jane was fortunate that while studying in Wellington, she was able to work in her chosen field alongside. Jane now holds a Bachelor of Commerce & Administration, with First Class Honours, from Victoria University in Management and Human Resources.

In recent years, due to her now husbands work commitments, Jane has moved to more provincial areas, and so her focus has moved from larger business HR to concentrating on small family owned businesses. She understands the time pressure small businesses are under and enjoys the opportunity to lessen the load. Jane loves the opportunity to partner with a small business owner and work together to come up with solutions based on good practice. No matter what the solution is, it is about adding value to the business – seeing a return on the time spent.

Health & Safety is an area where Jane really sees that value added – ensuring that small businesses have the correct processes in place to not only meet legislative requirements but more importantly, focus on getting everyone home safe at the end of the day, leads to a more sustainable, efficient workplace with healthy staff. Alongside this, Jane works with ACC to assist businesses to achieve relevant accreditation and safety discounts.

Jane is a highly organised individual who enjoys building solid working relationships – with a determination to continuously seek ways to improve business performance and identify business opportunities. Her main passions are with employee retention, health and safety and learning & development.

Away from work, Jane enjoys spending time with her husband and young children.

Moira Briscoe

MOIRA BRISCOE

Occupational Health Practioner

Moira has been involved in Health and Safety for over 20 years working in Auckland and now in Timaru. Her experience is based in manufacturing, health care and the dairy industry.

Moira has a strong nursing background and enjoys the occupational health monitoring, wellness and rehabilitation aspect of health and safety.

Moira has been in Timaru for 8 years and with her husband have a small lifestyle block which keeps them both busy throughout the year. They have a small Truffier and look forward to a harvest soon.

LISA NORRIE

Health & Safety Advisor - Country

Lisa has spent the last 11 years working at Silver Fern Farms at Fairton, in the last few years as Health & Safety Coordinator for the plant of approximately 600 people. At the plant Lisa was responsible for plant auditing, developing and implementing policies, practices and procedures.

Lisa hails from North Canterbury where she met her husband Stewart – they have both lived and worked in the rural sector for their whole married life and currently run a rural based business themselves which services the greater Canterbury district.

Lisa prides herself on her strong communication skills and relationship building and looks forward to working with the rural community to assist them in developing their health and safety.
